On the Carpet : Azzedine Alaïa’s Scent

by gimmegoodstyle

After glorious and dramatical, never-ending fight with Vogue US editor, Anna Wintour, Alaïa’s name was out of the radar then he came back and threw a haute couture show, banned all the Vogue’s staffs from the show. Classy.

But, looks like Alaïa still let some words slipped off from his tongue. The Tunisian-born designer decided to team up with Beauté Prestige International -the company behinds Jean Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake and Elie Saab scents-  to create a new fragrance. The first one.

“I am delighted to work with them in launching this new project. I have total confidence in Beauté Prestige International to accompany me in creating a perfume that interprets my work and my world.”

The designer said.

Hmm, quite a surprising step because I thought he is an ‘only-dress maker’ type of designer. Well, Alaïa is really tough about his aesthetic and works and that’s really understandable because he is a pro. Even Naomi Campbell, herself couldn’t say no to what he said. And he never says a lot of things.

Except the fact that he dislike publicity, looks like this fragrance will be a success. Everyone from mere fashion lover to fashionistas to socialites to editors (but, not for Anna Wintour, I guess) is surely waiting for the new fragrance.

Well, well, can’t wait to smell your scent, Mr. Alaïa !
